The first meeting in 2012 was held February 23rd, focusing on the status and 2012 plans of the member institutions and the LySEF election of a new chair and vice chair of LySEF for the coming period.
Election 2012
The Norwegian Polar Institute (NPI) is now the chair of LySEF,
represented by Kim Holmén.
The University Centre in Svalbard is the vice chair of LySEF,
represented by the Head of Study Administration at UNIS.
LySEF plans 2012
Planned activities within LySEF related to outreach for the local community of Longyearbyen will be more thoroughly planned in LySEF May meeting.
Member insituttions could arrange activities, lectures
or similar with support from LySEF before the May 2012 meeting.
Member institutions with suchhis requests should contact the secretariat.
